Fashion Island has been a fixture of the south Orange County scene for several decades. It used to be a nice little outdoor mall with several anchor stores and an outdoor escalator offering a sweeping view of the Pacific Ocean. Today, this metropolitan indoor/outdoor shopping plaza with promenades, kiosks, an indoor Farmer's Market and dozens of restaurants is both a shopping center and an entertainment venue.
